1897 Grade II listed pub

A masonry relief of a hunting dog with its prey is high up on the front of the building.

The pub is Victorian-era but there have been licensed premises on this street corner since 1734.

Highly glazed tiling, advertising mirrors and light fittings are some of the original interior features.

John Constable, Dante Gabriel Rossetti, George Orwell are all mentioned in the roll-call of famous customers.
