At this location on the South bank of the Thames close to Borough Market and London Bridge station, there has been a pub for over 800 years. It became the Anchor Inn in about 1770 as part of the adjacent Anchor brewery, providing beer to the great numbers of men employed at the local wharves and warehouses. Inside the pub there are many rooms spread out over several levels, and in summer customers drink outside to enjoy views of the river.
