Hard Rock Cafe
on London's Piccadilly |
This was the first of the chain restaurants to open in 1971. The famous collection of rock 'n' roll memorabilia that decorates the walls was started with a guitar donated by Eric Clapton and it has since grown to more than 70,000 items. The souvenir shop just next door is in a converted bank and there is a small museum downstairs with regular free tours. Items from the collection on show include John Lennon's glasses, Jimmy Hendrix's guitar and a bustier once worn by Madonna. |
