Centre Point Tower
from Charing Cross Road |
The 27 floor, glass and concrete skyscraper called Centre Point, can be seen from all over the West End. After its construction in the 1960s the office block became notorious for being left empty by the developers for many years while property and rental values were rising. Today the area beneath Centre Point is a building site once more as construction gets going on the Crossrail project , the new railway that will link Reading to the West of London, to Stratford and beyond to the East. |
