The Bluebird Garage
on King's Road |
Long since converted to a restaurant and 'lifestyle' store, the Bluebird Garage was built in 1923 as a state of the art showrooms and workshops for the Bluebird Motor Company. Malcolm Campbell who held the land speed record of the time, had a franchise business here and his racing cars carried the Bluebird name. The record-breaking car reached 235mph in 1924 on the Pendine Sands in South Wales. The current record is 763mph |
